Darien is originally from Warren, Ohio but received her Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University, where she graduated Cum Laude. She earned her Juris Doctor from The University of Toledo College of Law. In law school she founded the Art Law Society and was elected Clerk of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. She was selected to be a research assistant to her Property law and Family law professors thanks to her strong research and writing skills. She received the highest rank in her Advanced Juvenile and Domestic Violence Legal Clinic because of her passion for helping people through sensitive and difficult domestic disputes. Since graduating, she has added to that experience by working for Trumbull County Children’s Services. After moving to Columbus, she has worked exclusively in Juvenile, Elder, and Family Law. In her spare time, Darien is active in the Columbus standup and improv comedy communities and enjoys creating and analyzing art. She and her husband Justin enjoy cooking and traveling together and love taking their Newfoundland-lab puppy, Brigsby, on long hikes.
